About me and my practice

I work in a person-centred way which means to provide an environment where somebody's free to touch their inner self in a way that they don't normally get the chance to when they're not being listened to or getting enough support.
I believe that a person has deeper wisdom within their essence so before they started to think difficult things about themselves or life and it is still there.
People naturally change when their minds flow in a relationship that's safe to explore and to find new feelings and experiences. I'm very much dedicated to the person-centred approach so I don't mix it with lots of tools and techniques worksheets and the like and work online in the same way I would face to face as much as is possible.

Experience

I enjoy working with people of all adults ages and backgrounds.
I have worked in the mental health fields for 35 years.
I started off in the caring professions as a general nurse working in a busy hospital in Sheffield and then transition to psychiatric nursing for the next 11 years.
I then went on to train as a counsellor and had two children and have enjoyed forming warm counselling relationships with people ever since.
I have worked at the university of Sheffield as a counsellor for 17 years and and in private practice for 20 years.

Fees

My charge £55 for a full hour.
I charge £45 for students and unemployed people.

When I Work

I work Monday to Wednesday 9 to 5.
